Intermediate Non-Pro Futurity
Victoria Lambert has ridden a few
futurity horses before, but considered the
SWRHA Futurity a breakthrough. Riding
Guaranteed By Amos, she scored a 214.5
to win the Championship and $1,670.
Guaranteed By Amos is a mare by
A Famous Amos out of Okies Paulette
by Okie Paul Quixote. Lambert,
Hempstead, Texas, purchased her during
the Tulsa Reining Classic this year
through Michigan trainer Pat Rogers.
The mare is now in training with Jared
Leclair, Pilot Point, Texas. “She’s wonderful,” Lambert said of
Guaranteed By Amos. “I tried her in
September, and Jared took her home
with him and has done a fabulous job
with her.”
She and the mare won the Non-Pro and Intermediate Non-Pro at the 4R
Performance Futurity in Katy, Texas,
in October. In Ardmore, they marked
a 209.5 in the first go. Lambert said
this was the first futurity in which she
improved her score from the first go round
to the finals. “I was not very organized in the first
go,” she said. “Jared worked with me
and really helped me get a plan in my
mind. He got the horse prepared and
it worked really well. I felt like I rode
smoother in the finals.”
Lambert and her husband, Carl, own a
number of mares, including Memorable
Affair, the earner of $93,840, according
to Equi-Stat records, and several
show horses. She said her husband
and her mother, Nancy Lengyel, are “extremely supportive.”
“My mom and husband love the
horses, and they are the reason I have
horses,” she said.
Lambert owns Caballo Rojo
Publishing, which publishes the
Brahman Journal and does Web site
design and video presentations for the
cattle and horse industries.
